Clean Beauty Tips With Stephanie Burr

Clean Beauty Tips With Stephanie Burr

1. What makes Beautycounter different from the rest of the clean beauty brands?

Beautycounter is a social missioned based company that is working to move both national policies and the marketplace away from the use of toxic/harmful ingredients in our personal care products and provides a sustainable solution through their high performing, safe products. Beautycounter has the strictest ingredient screening process in the US if not the world!

2. How did you get into clean beauty & skincare?

Actually, my background is in education. When learned from a friend about the lack of regulation in the Beauty and skincare I felt compelled to share the info I was learning. I myself have a strong family history of cancer and learning that the ingredients in my products was putting me and my family at a higher risk for the disease is my motivation to help others make safer more informed choices.

3. Any tips for those just starting to go green?

Yes, check the ingredients in all the products you are using and compare it to Beautycounter’s Never List. These ingredients have been proven to have negative effects on your health!

4. What are your must-have beauty products?

I need a good eye cream for sure! My absolute favorite is the Rejuvenating eye cream (clinically tested for fine lines and signs of aging). I can’t go a day without my tinted moisturizer with SPF, Beautycounter ‘s Dew Skin... gives just enough coverage to run out to do errands but can be combined with our Tint skin foundation for more coverage and a nice dewy glow. As for my body... I am super dry! So the Citrus Mimosa Body Butter is an absolute must for me especially in the winter time.

5. What is your favorite healthy recipe?

Gwyneth Paltrow’s recipe book: It’s All Good. is my favorite. The chicken and kale soup is my winter go to...especially during flu season (bone broth is key).

6. What’s your favorite healthy dessert?

Strawberries 🍓 They are full of antioxidants and are so great for beautifying the skin.

7. How do you practice self-love?

I love to put on a face mask to relax and read a good magazine or book. I also try to do one thing for myself everyday, whether that is exercise, cooking my favorite meal, meditation(I’m learning), dry brushing, doing my nails etc... as a busy mom of 3 I have to make a conscious effort to do something for myself. :)

8. Are you a bold or nude lip?

Love a nude lip for day and a bold lip for night.

9. Bubbles or White or Red?

Bubbles🍾

10. What’s your favorite Valentine’s day memory?

My husband and I had our first “date” on Valentine’s Day. On our 1 year date-anniversary ( before cell phones- now I’m dating myself) he showed up 2 hours late with soot on his face and a dozen broken mangled roses. There had been an electrical fire at his house as he was getting ready to come pick me up. I had thought he was standing me up! I remember feeling so angry and confused until he showed up at my door. He sure was a sight for sore eyes. We recovered and had a really nice night. Certainly, a Valentine’s Day we won’t forget. ♥️
