Love Yourself: Get Better Sleep

Love Yourself: Get Better Sleep

Those mornings when you wake up and you feel tired, fatigued and you just want to keep hitting the snooze button...we've all been there. Here are some tips to create a bedtime routine that can help you unwind and relax so you can then get into sleep mode and wake up feeling energized and ready to take on the day.

BATHTIME

Baths are good for the body and the mind. They give you the perfect excuse start that book you’ve been wanting to read or thumb through your fav style magazines. Our favorite bath soak to get you ready for sleep is a generous portion of himalayan salts with rose petals and lavender buds with 5 drops of chamomile essential oil. Get ready to say ahhhhh…..

*Not a bath person, try a warm shower to wash away the day and soothe the muscles.

DO A MASK

While soaking in the tub give your skin some loving with your favorite face mask. There are so many benefits to doing a face mask. You can clarify, moisturize, cleanse, lighten, tighten and firm depending on your skin's needs.  It's also fun to pamper yourself with a mini at home facial 2-3 times a week to keep your skin youthful and glowing.

THE POWER OF SCENT

The relaxing blend of chamomile, lavender are the perfect blend to get some ZZZ’s.  If you don't have an aromatherapy machine, light a candle with these notes.

TEA TIME

Make a cup of tea- it’s so relaxing to sip on a warm cup of tea before bed. It helps you unwind, and somehow just melts away stress like a charm. There are many sleepy time tea blends out there, pick one that speaks to your taste buds!

KEEP YOUR ROOM DARK

Being in a dark room that is almost pitch black can help promote deeper sleep and you’ll feel more energized and ready to take on the day in the morning.

LIMIT SCREEN TIME

Try to put away all blue light tech devices 30 minutes before trying to go to sleep. This includes your ipad, and cell phone. It's important to keep all distracting technology out of arm's reach.  These devices are the culprits for why so many of us are sleeping later and later these days and getting lower sleep quality.

What are some of your favorite bedtime rituals?
